Hi All,

First post here and I wonder if you can help me out my PC seems to be really poor graphically at playing games, I mean Fifa 2011 on youtube on a PC that is running a simular spec as mine looks so much better than mine.

My 3DMARK vantages comes in around the 8k mark.

My Current PC

Asus P5N-E SLI
e8200 - 3.2Ghz OC'ed
Radeon 4850 1gb DDR3 GPU 700/1050
3GB PC-5300 Nanya Memory
x2 17' HP 1702 tft monitors

Any Idea?

Cheers
Lee

Hi and welcome

I take it you have updated all your drives eg gfx, or at least to catalyst 10.4 which most people find the best performance/bug free drivers. Also while you are playing a game like Fifa 2011 I see you have two screens, open task manager and catalyst and see if the CPU is 100% or gfx or ram to see if you have a bottleneck. Also what detail do you play on and is the game patched up to date?

I have never used vantage, downloading now.

Let me see my score then I should be able to help.

I have and E8200 in right now and will fit my 4850 before I run, will also turn my RAM down to as close as I can get to 667Mhz

Right, sorry for the double post, just about running now, only difference I have is I have a 22LCD

What resolution you running @

Come to think of it what version of Windows are you using and what version was used in the youtube video?

Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit, just changed the CCC 3d standard settings from balanced to high quality, wow what a difference that makes, looks like it might have just been configuration :D

Yea some people say that Calayst is your root problem sometimes and you have to change everything to 'let application choose settings' or something along those lines. I know a lot of people were getting really back FPS in crysis a while ago due to calayst hogging all the settings.

Glad you have figured it out

CPU or GPU?

CPU is done within the Bios, GPU will confirm later on tonight.

ermm bus speed as in FSB?

I'm wondering because your RAM limits you to a bus speed of 333MHz. I'm sure that CPU has a mutliplier of 8 so wondering how you achieved the 3.2GHz OC.. You would need a minimum of PC2-6400 for an 8 * 400 oc
