Whats wrong with the Fiat Stilo Abarth?

I have been looking at putting the Supra in storage over winter and getting a cheap runabout and in my searching I came across the Fiat Stilo Abarth Selespeed which pretty much ticks every box except they are selling for substantially less than I would expect, i.e <£2k for a good one.

What am I missing here, the things have decent mpg, almost as much power to weight as a Civic Type-R and their better equipped than Lexington Steel. Is the some kind of major design flaw with them or is this just an example of the current used car market being a "buyers market"?

Thanks.

Terrible chassis, it's a 'powerful' engine in a car designed to not take more than 100bhp so is a a terrible drive. The automatrics are stupidly unreliable (Selespeed), manuals fine. You'll get a few eletrical issues but the reliability would be alright, terrible looking cars as well.

Avoid.

Forced to agree with Fox here - unless you are taking the Supra off the road to carry out refurbishment or restoration work I'd just keep driving it.

Thanks, guess that's the reason their so cheap then lol

Surely a 900 quid Toyota is the very definition of a cheap runabout? Can't see the point.

What you got in mind? im not that sure what im looking for so any ideas would be appreciated.

im not sure about the abarth version but i quite like the schumacher GP version.

I guess its my guilty secret, like admitting i enjoyed that fat / old bird sort of thing..........

I think prodrive tinkered with the shocks etc so its probably quite quick in the corners but the 5 cyclinder engine is more torque than hp i guess. You could say that they are fashionable just like the focus st (cough)

Garaging stuff over winter does my box in. Just don't drive like a ****.

Buying something cheap to run over winter actually works out cheaper than just running the Supra, with the added bonus of not having to worry about the car getting damaged, besides its not like you can have any fun when its mostly going to be raining or worse anyway.

He's talking about your Supra.

Oh, are you sure? I thought he was gonna suggest a Corolla or something, he's normally good with math and stuff :p

Well I certainly have experienced so.

I spent more time fixing my ex's punto than she did driving it. My mate's Brava was little more than a re-animated automotive corpse.
