I own a car that will do 155mph with a 0-62 of 6 seconds yet my average speed over 3k is only 24mph with the average mpg at 17.8.

On the way back from the RR weekend, I managed an average speed of 70 mph from Sidcup to Belgium.

It's probably somewhere around 30mph at the moment though.

Mines about 26mph, you can do 60 9 out of 10 miles of a journey but that final 1 mile of stop start messes it up.

It's high - but it actually is. I basically drive across country at 55mph for about 6 miles, then onto motorways (unobstructed, quiet ones) at motorway speed for 45 miles. My office is just off the motorway

The car doesn't get used for around-town work at all, just hacking back and forth each day.

Sometimes the average is slightly higher! Depends on how free-flowing everything is.

although this was before xmas, currently done 12000 miles since last reset and averageing 43mpg and 22 mph

around 23-26mph usually. Although over the last week it was 48 :eek:
