I went for a new patient checkup with the duty nurse at my doctors surgery recently who took my blood pressure, weight and height and how many I smoked a day (10). From the results, which informed her that I was overweight (13.5st) and blood pressure was way too high (@ 23 y/o) and a combination of family medical history, I was heading for an early grave.
I had a BMI reading of 26.1 that day.
Granted it took about a 2 months later and a long hard look in the mirror; I'm 6 weeks "Smoke free" and weigh 12.4st and still dropping, thanks to the gym rats and health nuts in here

I heard that BMI does not take into account a lot of things such as, bone density and muscle mass, so I guess it should be used as a guideline.
