Spec in sig as well. Not changing anything for at least 2 years or when the 3xxx series come out from nvidia but they probably cost way too much.

Largely content with my primary PC build which is in Sig. Maby when the the ASUS PG35VQ comes out swap out the PG348Q. Also really liked the look of that Royal Trident Z RGB at CES which I would love, even if it was wasteful.

I do have a secondary HTPC rig with 8700k @ 5.3 GHz and 1080Ti @ 2100 MHz / 12 Gbps. I would I suppose like to swap out the 1080Ti for 2080Ti, mostly as its hooked up to a 4k panel and with some newer games can be taxing or just wait for next Gen.

If I was just tweaking my current spec (in signature) - a larger SSD (current one is only 120GB) and maybe throw in a second-hand 3770K. Next full machine that I build I'll probably go back to AMD for the first time in a while.

Mine (spec in signature) still does very well at 1080p 60fps on the whole. Some newer games ask a bit too much of the 780 but knocking a couple of settings down a notch usually sorts things out.

I'm looking at upgrading to 1440p at some point with a GTX 1070/ti or a 1080. I'd like to upgrade to a 4c/8t CPU too so I'll probably stick a 4790k in.

3770K running at 4.2Ghz
16Gb DDR3
Crucial M4 120Gb SSD (boot drive)
2Tb Western Digital mechanical
230Gb Evo SDD
230Gb Intel SSD
OCUK Tech Labs 970GTX

Upgrade wise, will be looking at 1Tb SSD on black friday/cyber monday to consolidate down my 2tb and 230gb ssds. I might look at a 1080ti second hand but due to my case need a reference one but will keep an eye on prices first

CPU not causing me an issue, likewise 16gb ram more than enough atm

AMD FX 8350 @ 4 GHz
Asus STRIX GeForce GTX 970 4 GB
12 GB DDR3 1333 MHz
Crucial BX100 500 GB SSD, + 1 TB and 4 TB HDDs
750w OCZ PSU Bronze 80+
Dell U3415W 3440x1440 ultrawide 34"

Just want a graphics card upgrade to something 1080ish, that'll hopefully get my fps to 60 @ 3440x1440. I'm amazed the CPU still seems to be going strong. The only game I've played that runs like garbage is good old 'dual core only' WoW - which I've thankfully outgrown anyway.

After securing a graphics card upgrade, I may then explore OC'ing the CPU. At the moment there doesn't seem to be much point due to the graphics card bottleneck at UWQHD.

I have Ryzen 1700 with 3600c16 8pack RAM and a 1070 G1, 250+500GB SSDs for OS and games.

I would love to change the GPU, partly for a rattly fan but also because I'd like some more performance, despite the fact that most games are fine on it and when I do find time to game it's usually not the latest releases (ARK:SE is too demanding though@1440p!). In hindsight I wish I'd bought a 1080ti before the mining boom, but there's no way I'm paying that much now when it's 2 years old tech.
All my hopes are pinned on Navi to maybe rekindle some competition in the GPU space (yes, I know....!).

I think realistically my next move will be more/faster SSD (such as 500GB NVMe for OS and 1TB SATA SSD for games), purely because games are ridiculously big now and I get fed up of having to reinstall them (ARK is already close to 150GB and Extinction isn't even out yet!).
I'd also like to add a mech drive (2-3......-6TB) to give me more room to record gameplay at high quality (as I'm currently using an old 1TB external!) but it's not a priority as I never find time to edit the videos down and upload them :p

Would also love a G-sync monitor, but not going to buy into a proprietary standard and my trusty 27" DGM is still going strong :)

Dunno, I have my bio a Haswell build from 2013, i've never OC, i feel i need more gunt now =(

i5 4670k 3.4ghz
Z87oc Gigabyte
Samsung EVO SSD Win 10 64
MSI 680 lightning 2Gb
2x4 gb RAM DDR3 1333mhz and 2 slots available on mobo
Antec 750w
Very good colling and case, my CPU seems to have a lot of headroom, never much above room temp and my GPU's fans never appear above 40%, (im just scared of OC becuase i havent got a clue what i'm doing)

I feel ive never really tested my PC, but playing stuff like BF4 now on highish settings gives me 40 FPS, and stuff just seem slower, but it is almost 4 yrs old now..

Would not know where to improve, those 2 RAM slots? if anyone can offer where i can improve best i would appreciate it.

I'm hardly knowledgeable when it comes to overclocking but the first thing I would do in your case is to simply enter the bios when booting up, and then alter the CPU frequency from 3.4 to say 4.0. Use something to monitor your temperatures but in any case, I'd be very surprised indeed if you couldn't attain 4ghz. If you need any help then let me know. I could make brief video showing the very basics, if you want.

Ryzen 1700 @ 4.0
GTX 1080 @ 2.1
16gb DDR4 3200 C14
250gb + 500gb PCIE M.2
500gb, 750gb, 960gb and 1tb SATA SSDs
X370 Taichi
Burson Play Audio USB
Q Acoustic BT3 and Sennheiser HD650
Dell U2715H

This was built as a photo editing, media playback, and 1440p/60fps gaming rig. I'm generally happy with everything (especially sound and display). The 1080 is still going strong and I have oodles of fast storage. The only thing I have some buyer's remorse with it the CPU - coming from a 4770K @ 4.3 it's added a lot of grunt for photo editing, but feels like a step sideways or backwards gaming (eg some areas in Witcher 3 definitely struggle). I've thought about going 4k, but to be honest I don't think monitors are there yet (I might take a look when HDMI 2.1 VRR puts in an appearance).

A 1070 is a bit limited at 1440p, but a 1070ti or 1080 would be plenty (used 1080 would be a good bet).

The king of the north!
system spec:
CPU: 2700X @ Stock settings
CPU Cooler: Wraith Prysm cooler.(stock cooler)
GPU: Aorus gtx 1080TI (+40Core/+450Mem)
RAM: Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 3200Mhz C16
PSU: EVGA G1 850W Modular PSU 80+Gold
Motherboard: gigabyte b450 ds3h
SSD.1: 120GB 840 Evo
SSD.2: 240GB Sandisk
HDD: a 1TB hdd that i pulled out of an Aorus X5V6.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Peripherals ect:

Monitor: Acer Predator XB252Q 240hz GSync <--- i love this thing.
Mic: Blue Yeti desk microphone
Earphones: Sennheiser IE800 <-- these were quite the investment at £800 when i got them, but im glad i did.
KB: Corsair strafe ( red led only version as got it for a bargain £30 in a special sale )
Mouse: Zowie FK2
Mouse pad: Zowie G-SR
Mouse Bungie: Zowie Camade.

Things i want to change in order of change.

CPU Cooler: Wraith Prysm cooler.(stock cooler) >>> Likely an AIO for now with some Noctua fans for silence.
SSD.1: 120GB 840 Evo >>> 512GB Nvme drive for OS, recording and a few games.
HDD: a 1TB hdd that i pulled out of an Aorus X5V6. >>> Really nice high cap drive IE 10TB +
RAM: Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 3200Mhz C16 >>> Something faster, with better timings, maybe some sammy B-dies? Especially with Ryzen.
ADD a sennheiser GSX1200 dac.
MIC : Maybe move over to an XLR mic, possibly something from sure or rode but unsure of that yet.

After all of the above are completed i will be awaiting news from the ryzen shrink to see how much performance gain comes from it. I will also wait to see how that performance translates over to threadripper and upgrade my motherboard, cpu and move over to a custom water loop that i currently have some parts for but don't want to do it just to tear it down again in 8 months. Or if the next Ryzen(or intel for that matter) chips are not a good enough step up, i will replace my motherboard with a much better clocker, and custom loop the system in it's current form.

Spec in sig, i'd only get a bigger screen(and relegate my main to being the secondary) and grab a new GPU(can never have too much GPU power unless it goes totally unused), but i'm largely not finding newer games to my liking(it's all pretty meh if you ask me, must be getting too old for it). A couple of extra SSDs wouldn't go amiss, but she's still running great and it's years since i've installed the OS fresh(sat ready to go on the USB stick, 5 min job, it's the reinstalling and updating everything that's a pita).
