Whats your favourite make of motherboard?

Abit has been good for me in the P4 days, then DFI for AMD 939, Gigabyte DS3 has served my C2D experience well (which im using at the moment) but im switching back over to Abit very soon for the Abit IP35 Pro. ;)

Dont have an out-right favourite, like the build quality on Asus, Abit, MSi & Gigabyte boards so favour them over rest. Only ever had one board let me down from Gigabyte, 24 days later after RMA; was sent back the very same board which had been repaired & still works today. :)

Gigabyte for their overclockability and reasonable priced motherboards, ePox for the long lasting low end pc's.

I am a fan of DFI boards but that doesn't stop me from choosing another board if its better. DFI are late to the game on Intel boards and miss the wagon for each chipset. So for my p35 upgrade I went with asus as they have not caused a single ****-up in my many builds over the past years.

The nf4 range was a fantastic piece of kit; rock solid, overclocked really well and looked great.

Gigabyte do great boards too and I have used them for a few server builds as their top end boards are stuffed with loads of useful features.

I have had a variety of motherboards over the years, and have been very lucky with most of them, so I suppose I am a bit spoilt now.
I currently have my first Gigabyte which is well made, but having had a problem that required an RMA, I contacted their support line. The response was quick but inadequate, and repeated attempts with rephrasing the question caused me frustration with the same almost automated response, and I never got a proper answer, so next time I will go back to Abit who for me have been the best troublefree board.

So im seeing Abit is still quite popular, also Gigabyte - never tried them, don't think i've used Asus. I have a DFI Lanparty Ultra or something - bright yellow components and stuff - good board, worked well.

Think im gonna go for the Abit AB9 QuadGT.

Thanks for your replies ;)

Only had one mobo for the last 4 years: ASUS P4C-800E deluxe - no complaints. Looking at ASUS for next mobo: P5K deluxe maybe.

DFI definitely. I've used 3 DFI boards and they were all rock solid, immense at overclocking, and so easy to use. Not to mention the onboard sound is great.
Can't wait for the X38 DFI board :D
