If I could only have one, and had to live off one, I'd go for Thai or jamaican, as I think I could tolerate eating them the most regularly.
My favourite is probably fishy and chips, but prefer that as a monthly treat.

Indian for our house, garlic chilli chicken, Tandoori Tikka masala, plain pilau rice, mushroom pilau rice, onion bhaji and a Dahl is the combined regular order for sharing.
Chinese only rarely but if there was a decent local delivery service then orders could increase, not found a decent one yet locally, sigh !

Fish n chips is rubbish.

Never understood why you would want that, the fish is ok, I guess, I'd have it with salad, but the fish these days is expensive.

Otherwise it's just bloat and not particularly flavoursome.

If anything fish n chips smells better than the actual eating of it.

my wife is Thai so I eat Thai food everyday, everything from the well known stuff to the more traditional and authentic food , my wife is also an awesome cook and there’s only been a few instances where I’ve had Thai food in the UK that has been anywhere near as good as hers , her food closely matches the flavours and balance I’ve only really tasted when I’ve been in Thailand , everyone who has tried her food has raved about it and we are currently trying To start a takeaway business.
I’m spoiled tbh

so saying all that I now find myself strangely looking at Western food when I eat out or when I (rarely) get a takeaway

Need a better chippy mate !

Aye, makes such a difference. Generally speaking in my experience the best chippys are either North or South. I live in the Midlands and the chippies round here are largely garbage (which makes sense geographically I suppose...). Curry houses however... one of the few things Birmingham does exceptionally well.

Generally I'll always go for Chinese or any East Asian food if I'm ordering in but that's mostly because it travels well and all the other types of takeaway within ordering distance are appalling. Can't get a decent Pizza round here for ****, the chicken shops just serve puckered grease balls and I always prefer to eat at a restaurant if I fancy Indian. We have so many fantastic Curry houses round here, seems a crime to get it delivered.

Not sure if it's a thing anywhere else but I also despise the rise of the Peri Peri takeaway. It's just chicken with a dry rub on... will never understand that.

Had a lot of American Slider style diner takeaways pop up round Brum recently as well. Most I've tried are decent but it rarely travels well.

Been a plague of dessert shops pop up everywhere as well. Again, they're largely decent but there's no real variety to be had aside from different spins on what to put on top of a toasted waffle...
