Day 2 Exceptions Processing at EDS.

Cheques come in, we check them to see if they're filled out right and so on, check for fraud, I'm sure you can imagine.

- Boring
- No variety
- Slightly odd hours

+ Boring = easy
+ It's the least stressful job I've ever had
+ I get a lie in
+ I like the people I work with

I'm a part-qualified accountant

- Have to live in Dublin during the week cuz that's the only place I can get a half-decent wage. All my friends and family in Dundalk
- Still not a good enough wage to have any real savings at the end of the month
- ... and can't afford to buy my own place at home because I'm renting in Dublin
- Boring
- Two direct supervisors, one direct manager, one direct partner, and countless managers, directors and partners over me.
- Not enough work to do some of the times...
- ... and then loads landing on my desk all at once
- Supervisers are really quick to try to shift the blame on me (or anyone, once it's not themselves).

+ "good experience"
+ leaving in May!!!

I am an IT consultant for a large mobile telecommunications company...

Pros

I get paid large amounts of money to travel the world for free!
I should be on over 50K in 4-5 years
I am on a decent salary for a graduate (1st year out of uni)
I get to work from home half the time
My freinds/ future parntner can come visit me abroard for free!
I can claim fuel/ lunch expenses just for going into the office for the day!

Cons

Starting a relationship may prove impossible!
I am away from home half the time
I don't get to the gym often enough
I end up eating out (on company expenses) most nights which results in large amounts of calories/ alcohol being consumed, therefore I put on weight
I regularly make long haul flights for pretty much no reason!
I sometimes have to pull all nighters/ work horrendous hours!!
