My MBP - you may notice the high load, because I was trying to flatten the battery quickly last night :/

I doubt that, maybe 12 years ago yes or possibly a glitchy Vista. But I've had XP running for weeks before, back in the 'leave a large download going overnight' stage.

In only 3 days? Sure, if we're talking about a Windows 98 box, but not for anything XP onwards. I've not rebooted Win7 for two weeks now, just putting it to sleep overnight rather than shutting down. No issues at all. Well, aside from Windows Update reminding me every four hours that it's done a bunch of updates and really wouldn't mind if I'd reboot to finish the process off

A friend of mine once saw 44 days uptime on his MBP. One of the few times I've been halfway impressed with his computer to be honest.

When I turn off my personal machines, it's almost always about battery, updates or frugalness, not stability.

So I don't see these uptime figures as as saying much about anything.
