Whats your worst average speed during a trip?

edit - on second thoughts, not such a good idea!

was a picture of a GPS data log from my driftbox on a trip to the ring.

There's no need to be a troll here Fox.

I was subtly making the ever so subtle point that in this sort of thread we get all sort of wild and outlandish claims of very dubious 'average speeds'. It's made all the more amusing in this case in that he's asking for your worst average speed :p

I have a terrible average speed, last time I looked it was 20 something which is bad considering the bulk of my daily commute is motorway.

Damn traffic!

In fact I should confirm at lunch...

The best I had was driving to Stoke, 66MPH and still almost 500 miles to the tank \m/

Last year it took me 7 hours to do 5 miles after a crash on the M1. M1 was closed to had to take country lanes along with EVERONE else.

Worst time behind the wheel.

It took me 2 hours 15 minutes to get the 10 miles home from work one Friday afternoon a couple of years ago - so about 4.4mph :(

There had been an accident, shutting the M6 and all the traffic was coming round Preston on the A roads.

Surly this will be won by whoever got stuck on the motorways was it 2 years ago in the floods, when they where shut for almost 24hours with people stranded.

Got to be just outside of Brum when driving back from Cornwall, I think I did about 3 miles in an hour :'( or was it a mile in 3 hours.....either way it was a complete bassa.

I knew I was in trouble when the locals in the cars around me started pulling out picnic baskets :/

Bedfordshire to Portishead at an average of 70 mph. Including a 4 mile stretch of Avg. 40mph cameras, the 7 mile stretch of Avg. 50mph on the M25, and the torrential rain of a couple of weeks ago. Not silly quick but I was damn impressed.

It took me 1.30hrs to get from O2 Arena to Canary Wharf which is less than a mile after a concert.

Then the other day when the blackwall tunnel was closed it took me 3hours to do 1 mile :(

It used to take me best part of 2.5 hours to do the 25 miles from university to home when I was a student. Then they put in the bus lane on the M4 and it went up to 3.5 hours on my worst recorded journey, ie I could have walked it in a similar time. This was through pre congestion charging London before the variable speed limits on the M25, which was like a car park and used to take much longer than through town.

I excelled myself tonight......

A 12 Hour shift shunting loaded & empty trailers (of various lengths) on & off loading bays is no fun, believe me! :o:D

Yup took us 7-8 hours to get from Birmingham NEC (PH/Autosport show) back home which is ~110miles. It was lightly snowing when we left the venue coming down the M5. Speed was steady but very difficult driving conditions. Got near Stroud and Bath and the motorway was closed! Had to go via various tiny A and B roads depending on which were closed and not blocked, which was quite entertaining in a RWD :p

Was glad to get home, it would normally take 2 hours.

Last time I drove from Exeter to Chelmsford, I got stuck in a HUGE tailback at the dartford crossing, some inconsiderate **** crashed in one of the tunnels.

I reset the average speed, so I could get an idea of how slow the queue was moving, as I knew how far from the tunnel I was, I would have been able to tell my friend how long I'd be.

In the end, average speed from dartford to chelmsford - 4mph.
