Wheel bearing?

There is a noise from the rear wheel of the Focus - when I jack up rear tyre and spin it noise starts so it's a wheel bearing. Originally I thought it was tyre 'picking up'. However I've tried moving it at top and bottom and no movement.

Obviously it's on it's way but it will be ok for a few days won't it?

Sure it's not the rear break caliper sticking?

If there is no play then you should be ok for a bit.

Caliper? On a Ford Focus?

Drums my man lol. I've spun the wheel and it spins free - no notchiness or slow down.

If it's a bearing it usually knocks faster as you drive faster

If it is that they do last month's when they start knocking. But I'm not saying you should do that but I have and it's been fine

Popped by my local mechanic and asked him. He checked and no movement but could hear the noise. ' "it could last 6 months or 6 minutes. When it sounds like ball bearings rolling around a tin the bearing has properly gone." Lol

Ps it does sound like a helicopter taking off. But on occasion noise goes away.

sometimes with wheel bearings a lateral load may make the noise go away.
