Wheelie bin locks?

Pretty sad i have to do this, but i have some scab keep dumping **** in my Brown waste wheelie bin and my recycle bin.

So i need to buy some locks, i had a quick look online but cant seem to find anything suitable that looks like it will fit.

Has anyone bought any wheelie bin locks themselves? if so where from please?

Drill a hole and use a large padlock, could work well. Just don't forget to take them off on collection day!

That's what google turned out... it seems that they're just finding padlocks that suit and selling you that and a drill bit.

Is your bin accessible usually then or are they dumping it after you put it out? If the latter how will the bin men remove the locks?

That's a far more elegant solution. Even if it's £20 more expensive I'd go for that rather than risk forgetting to unlock it prior to collection.

A dustman is going along a street picking up the wheelie bins and emptying them into his dustcart lorry. He gets to one house where the bin hasn't been left out so he has a quick look for it, goes round the back but still can't see it so he knocks on the door. There's no answer so he knocks again.

Eventually a Japanese bloke answers..."Harro", says the chappy.
"Alright mate, where's ya bin?" asks the dustman.

"I bin on toilet" replies the Japanese bloke, looking perplexed.

Realising the Japanese fellow has misunderstood, the binman smiles and says "No mate, where's ya dust bin?"

"I dust bin on toilet I told you" says the Japanese man.

"Mate" says the dustman... "you're misunderstanding me....Where's your wheelie bin?"

"OK, OK", says the Japanese bloke, "I wheelie bin having a ****!"

First thing that came to mind when I saw this thread

ah, when i first saw the thread title i thought it must have been cause someone was stealing your rubbish not adding to it

The scrap yard haven't thrown those bit away though. The scrap yard own them.

Not the same as taking something out of a bin between it being put out and the collection.

I have one of these linky. I had the same sort of problem, someone completely filling my bins so i couldn't put my own rubbish out. Downside is you do have to physically remove the lock when you put the bin out for the collection, upside is you don't need to do any drilling and it can be reused on any bin.
