When are the new MMO/Online multiplayer games coming out?

planetside 3 hopefully , however 2 is still going strong, but it is bloody old now! Never thought it would last this long so proves the appetite is there.
but its not really an MMO in the traditional sence. for a FPS with Tactical elements and char unlocks.

it is old but for what it servers i think unique.

Every now and then I kinda wish I had an MMO to jump into.

I think to get the best out of a MMO it really helps if you have people to play with regularly, sadly those I game with don't really seem to be into any games that are MMOs. I kinda liked how Guild Wars 2 did in world events that forced players to band together to do stuff.

I also kinda wish immersion was more important in MMOs. As an example I decided to give Star Wars The Old Republic another a year or so after launch, kinda just feels wrong going to a social hub and seeing dozens of Jedi having a dance party whilst letting off fireworks.

Problem with mmos these days is that everyone rushes to end game as quick as possible and then moan about lack of content instead of doing the side quests or crafting etc

The idiot generation can't handle MMORPGs as they require an attention span in excess of 30s in order to play and you don't get everything handed to you instantly with massive onscreen hints telling you where to go and what to do. I reckon that's one of the main reasons why nobody has developed a decent one in in the last decade or so. And even when a company does shovel millions of pounds into attempting to develop one, it's complete and utter dumbed down rubbish - I'm looking at you Amazon and 'New World'.

Personally I'd like a 1 for 1 remake of 'The Secret World'. Just update the graphics, eradicate a few of the irritating little bugs and I'd be happy.
Can't agree more, New World had great potential until was took over by crying 10yo

This is a problem and then people like me who don't rush content get left behind and unwanted in raids as the egdelords scream out for experienced runners only.

I think Star Wars Galaxies handled that really well. The game world (well worlds but you get what I mean) felt so huge and limitless and there were so many different things you could do that progression didn't feel linear, it felt like just being a person in a massive living breathing world and doing whatever you wanted within that sandbox.

I do understand why a lot of MMOs these days do more to guide the player from a defined start to a defined end point but the downside of that is as you guys say, you'll get people rushing to get to the end and then so much development time gets focused on new things to do 'at the end' that it's to the detriment of the people that want to actually experience the game.
