When are they turning that black hole particle thingy on ?

When are they firing it up ? that big tunnel thingy under france and switzerland or where ever ?

Or have they done it already ? I seem to remember that loads of people said it would make a black hole and destroy the earth when they turned it on. But i still have to goto work tomorrow, so surely they can't have hit the switch yet ?

There was an article in New Scientist very recently (last two days or so) whereby the government has withdrawn it's funding in scientific research along these lines...
So I guess the off switch wont be that far behind flicking it on....

Ah, so basically its a great big particle accelerator. I've heard about it before, it sounds like they have very little idea of whats going to happen.

they've been running theory computation experiments for ages on what will happen they have a fairly good idea what will happen, but the chances of it destroying the world are ridiculously small.

Er March or May or some other month beginning in M I think, could be wrong though.

I think there was a problem with the magnets, there's a thread on the Speakers Corner about it.
