When are you going fully electric?

Maybe, but remember you can always have the delete badge option.

Looking at the spec list, things you miss out on with a V1 Tavascan that a V2 has...

Signature Matrix LED Lights
Pano Roof
DCC 'Sport'
Variable Boot Floor
AR Head Up Display
Sennheiser Audio
Electrically adjustable memory seats (which in the VAG world means more directions of adjustment too usually)
Top view camera
'Immersive' Ambient lighting
Illuminated Door Mouldings

Obviously it depends on the individual what sort of things matter to you but that's all the sort of stuff i'd much prefer to have and to me feels like how Cupra meant the car to be.
Hmm yeah - audio would be nice, and so would the pano. I'll have to check it out in person. It's still substantially more than the Scenic and at v2 spec it's in Audi q4 territory.

(Thanks for pulling the list together)

So much this
If you can just get a cheap second hand car that looks smart enough then just take the £300 a month into your bank account. Nobody is making you spend it on a car!
The rules for the car allowance (as it stands at the moment) is that it must be less than five years old. So yeah, they are "making" me spend it on a car. They wouldn't give it to me to spend on guitars and stuff (sadly) I could get a 3 year old car, but most stuff is then out of warranty, and stupidly complicated. I dont want something that's is something-teen grand with no warranty on it. If an automatic gearbox goes wrong at a cost of thousands to repair, you gotta pay it if the car has a big value.

I'm of the opinion that I'd rather have a newer car with warranty, or a piece of junk that I'd sell for scrap if the bottom fell out of it. I'm generally struggling with enthusiasm for everything at the moment, so I've no tolerance for faff, or stress of potential big bills.

I could opt out altogether, but id lose 6 grand of salary, and id still need a car of some sort.

Why is range so important ??
I often do a 100mile -> potter around -> 100mile (like two or three times a week). Just want to have a safe gamble on the highest range. Couldn't be arsed with HAVING to recharge each and every time. I figure the Model Y with 377 should be fine, Scenic with 372 --- Tavascan starts to drop off at 350... IX1 no change at 294 best case.

Is he not just factoring in 25% to 30% drop off from WLPT for real winter range?

The Tavascan at 350 WLPT will be fine to do 100 miles each way plus change. The iX1 would be right on the margin at 294 WLTP.

Sure you’d only need a 5 min charge but it’s one of those where you wouldn’t ordinarily need a break in a 100 mile each way trip.

Basic man maths is I need to do at least 220 miles in 100-20-100 pattern. I figure 220+30%+30% (winter, driving style) is sufficient tolerance to be within a fighting chance.

Definitely do not want to be stopping for a charge, no matter how small. Especially if there are cars where it means I won't need to stop for a charge.

Ive done 2 long trips in 0c temps over the last 2 weekends, with 3 people in the car for the trips, if mainly motorway and you dont have the discipline to do eco driving, ie 65mph, minimal heating etc, then 200 miles is doable, you'll have ~8-10% left. The tavascan has the same motor and battery as the ID7 so they will be similar efficiency. plus side is that chargers are plentiful, and all you need is a few mins charge.

From all my reading around, Tesla are still the most efficient.

Have you  guys never left the office at 7-8pm and just want to get home . Definitely don't want to be charging.

Your saying on the ID7 (range 437) can only do 200 motorway miles with 8-10% left? Damn.

Leaf deal was looking good (150 quid a month all in for 3 years) until it was not, leasing options keep changing their minds, same person different days

- "sure, any colour you want, included in the price" / "no, only two tone and that is now 30 quid extra per month"
- "you have to have the car in feb and the car is registered" / "you can have it anytime and no not at all registered"

So not going ahead with a new lease with them anymore...

What was your speed?

Haha 2 here but my wifes BF will kick my ass if I am late

Well as I was on the autobahn, speed was 75 and on occasion 80:p

You would do 230 on an eco run. I did a drive from West Midlands to Burnley return at 56-60mph just before Xmas. Minimal heating and it seemed to be downhill on the way back. I just wanted to see what the car was capable of and how many charger suggestions I would get along the way. I wouldn’t want to do that again tbh, it was dull as ****.
