When are you going fully electric?

Well the Kia is up, looks unsurprisingly similar. The GT version looks quite tasty but the website is lacking a few key details.

Looks like you can only reserve a chance to preorder today.

Too expensive, currently a good 10k dearer than petrol cars and you have to pay the additional fee of having a charge point installed at your house. Those who don't have a drive it is bit difficult to plug in over night to charge, don't see people throwing a lead out of their apartment window down to their car. You'd also likely get some idiot trip over it an try sue..
There needs to be way more public charge points and 'electric stations' either instead of or built along side petrol stations. Also needs to charge faster. 30mins to charge on already long commutes...

Yup, this is where I'm at right now. I have a drive so don't mind getting the charge point installed, there is a government grant to help with that anyway.
But ~£10k over the equivalent ICE is steep. Even with home charging on octopus go on my current mileage I'll be saving "only" £866 a year compared to my current run around. Happy to pay a little premium even then, but right now can't see it adding up. Only car which makes financial sense compared to ICE seems to be the Zoe, but I'm after something bigger.

The Ioniq 5 is available to order now. The EV6 will be available to order today.
Both the Kia and Hyundai new EV's are still 'Keep me updated'. The Kia EV6 GT isn't even shipping until at least late 2022.

As I said yesterday - these all look amazing and make current cars look outdated, but they are at least 18 months away from hitting roads. What else is coming between now and then ?!?! [The German brands are lining up their new EV models too].

The Kia should start delivering in October, so only 6 months. I’d expect it to be a bit like the Kona at launch though, that being hard to get hold of and a year+ waiting list initially.

The issue with the ID series is that the interior is a bit Fisher Price for what people would normally expect from a VW car.

That’s simply not true. We have orders in for both Ioniq 5 and EV6. The only EV6 you cannot currently order is the GT.

You have an order for a EV6?
The website states orders open in May. Which one did you order :p

quote from the Kia EV6 website

By completing the pre-reservation process, you are not ordering or purchasing a vehicle. Participation in the process does not guarantee your vehicle delivery. Your pre-reservation does not guarantee a set price for the vehicle.

Get off the internet and contact a dealer. The order books are open.

 Ha, indeed!

The Polestar 2 getting a good mention from Chris here, plus some other EV’s :p No iPace here :cry:

Not sure its much of a buying guide when pretty much 80% are leased anyway.... different type of driver in the practical sports EV segment m8 :p

How much are they? I can't get price information anywhere for the Ioniq 5 models, or indeed any information as to when they will be delivered. The Hyundai dealer I contacted had no information about that at all.
