When are you going fully electric?

Sat in the Atto3 at the fully charged show when out new EV shopping, I thought it was pretty decent inside, when you consider the likely price point.

Lucid will be bankrupt and gone before 2030…..unless the Saudis are happy to continue to plough hundreds of billions into a black hole.
I'm inclined to agree.

oh god... i feel sick!. I have just put a deposit down on an ipace. (very) late 2020 HSE black edition. its the facelifet so has all the tweaks done to it.

Nice, that is a lot of car for the money. I was expecting they would fetch more than that, I've not been used EV shopping for awhile!

I picked up my I Pace. Late 70 but not the 11Kwh model. Felt I'd made a mistake but drove back from Yorkshire to West Wales with no dramas. Touch duo works fine and I listen to Audible on long drives so suited me to use Android Auto.

Never driven with adaptive cruise but that was excellent. Wanted performance seats which are very comfortable. It's quick but not silly fast which is fine, I have other cars for that. Plenty to move in and out of traffic and the pick up is cool.

My only panic was leaving it too long to stop for a charge and got to Cardiff Gate Services with 0 miles. 209 miles which was lower the expected but unlikely to be an issue in my normal use.

Waiting on the charger to be fitted. Have switched to Octopus Go for the cheap overnight. Should be getting Solar soon so embracing the whole green energy shtick :)

Glad you got on with it ok.

Change to Inteligent Octopus, cost is the same overnight now and you get 6 hours+ went from 20-25% to 100% overnight last night

Lucid lost $554,429.59 per car delivered in Q1 2023,
Have enough cash for operations til Q2 2024
so unless something changes, bye bye Lucid

I’ve been following their journey for about 3 years - the whole company is a fraud.
The Lucid Q1 ‘23 earnings call is going live in 5 mins.

Table showing the last couple of years
They currently have $1bn of car stock they can’t sell and revenue dropped this quarter compared to previous qtr’s. They also have over $3bn of liabilities.

The top 3 shareholder questions for the call :D

Looking at YTD sales compared to last year, BEV is up 26%. But this isn't due to Tesla, who are down 3%. The market is diversifying.

Audi, VW, MG, Skoda, Nissan are way up. Although don't know what vehicle types.

Mostly ‘SUVs’ or what we call SUVs in Europe!

**** Useless Vehicles?

Need more EV estates, they are an infinitely more useful body shape, and also more efficient due to smaller front profile, especially for EVs - the only viable option at the moment is the MG5 (and even that looks like it's on stilts, and isn't particularly big!). Unfortunately they aren't "trendy", so people keep buying big (on the outside, not so much inside!) ugly monstrosities. I'd love an Octavia or Superb EV

Porsche do an estate (not that they would call it that), pretty sure the boot is smaller than the MG5 though.

Estates have the same battery hiding problems as saloons…

Yeh that’s an issue, it’s one of the real EV compromises at the moment that I hope will get better in time as battery density improves. 80+kWh in a car the size of a model 3 is more than fine, where it would benefit more is if the battery was physically smaller to get more height in the cabin rather than more battery being added.

£80k+ is several multiples of most people's budget though, and not really worth considering as far as "mass market" goes.

Yeah, absolutely, and I understand why the MG5 is "tall", even as an estate. As I said though, it's still not particularly big - less than a Niro if you include the frunk on the new model!

The new Astra is slightly more practical, but still isn't "big", and also has lower range and much higher price than the MG.

the ipace is a curious beast. its marketed as an SUV but is way more low slung than any suv i can think of....... cross over maybe?
that said.... arnt proper SUVs meant to be 4WD and actually sporty? which would make the ipace more of an SUV than my 1.5 diesel nissan QQ .

i dread to think how much it cost but some guy had a model 3 converted to an estate car.... I am not certain where i saw it.... fully charged youtube channel maybe (they called it a shooting brake iirc which was a new term on me - despite my dad being a wild fowler). there was also a model S converted to one but that was horrendously expensive.

Yea I've just gone from a Kona EV to a Focus Estate. Loving the huge amount more room I've got inside again, especially in the boot! Really hoping some more EV estates come out soon. I can take the "stilts" look as long as the interior size matches what I'm getting now!
