Indeed, what was the long term ownership like for matt cars cars in general ... have never seen a mythical M3 matt black on the road (can't see a discussion in oc either)

I’ve seen matt black Beemers. They look crap. Because they’re not shiny, it makes them look dirty.

Maybe not for a deep scratch, but wouldn't light scratches and swirl marks be essentially invisible, as long as they don't penetrate the entire depth of the paint? They'd be part of the 'texture', which remains indiscernible.

If it's the real Vanta black stuff (and not the similar, but not quite as black one) it isn't really practical to have on a car. It's not like normal paint where you can just go in to a booth and spray it on. It's not a smooth surface either.

Plus I think it's 7 figure prices to have something painted in it

I have a frozen white 18 comp pack. I love it. It’s way more low maintenance than a gloss paint. I wash my car maybe once every 2 weeks and I used to wash my cars 3-4 times per week. I use a lot of matte detail spray. I wipe down my car at least 2 times per day. Put some PPF on your car though because rock chip repair is very difficult on these cars. I use Chemical guys meticulous matte wash and detail spray and I also have Dr. Beasley’s matte cleanser and BMW matte nano wax. Poor boys world is about to release a matte detail spray and I like it the best of any I’ve tried. Keep an eye out for it also.
