Between us we CAN manage an Uber clocking PC.

first meeting of Jokester, Bundles and weescott today.

Preliminary testing of the Gigabyte motherboard resulted in us breaking our first component within 10 seconds!!! :eek:

Must be a record!!!!

The next stage is to volt mod the 9800pro (R350 and R360) and see if we can fit a Vapochill on there! If that doesn't work we have have to make do with a measly 172w tec and a 120.3 with 6 fans!

Watercooled NB / chipset is a possibility in a second loop.

At a later date:

7800GT volt mod
X2 3800 overclock (we have a new mobo)
P4 3.0 Prescott on phase
P3 1ghz on phase
Cellery 2.2 on phase
S3 Trio on Orb
ATI 7000 on Orb
TNT2 M64 on Orb

Result!!! We haven't broken anything :eek:

I eventually got the head mounted after fighting with an over zelous application of seal string from the Gigabyte board for half an hour but not before Bundles took some pictures of the frosty head. He seemed strangly fixated and as soon as Jokester wasn't looking he powered up the 172w pelt that he fitted to a 120.1 :eek:

He started to babble incoherently and kept mentioning something about the condensor in his fridge. I dread to think what he has in mind.

Tonight with a fresh install of XP etc.. I started clocking but only got up to 2.8Ghz on the X2 3800. I need to familiarise myself with the new DFI SLI-D mobo and maybe swap out the Geil One with OCZ VX.

Edit:

More volts make no difference. Maybe time time to replace the 550w Antec.

Possibly. 550w is the MINIMUM power required for my pc (X2 3800 and 7800GT). High overclocks might be pushing it a bit.

Ambient is 23c with windows open.
Condensor is -36c with fans on normal (tested)

I think the bios isn't reading the temps properly.

Condensor / Evaporator, bah - it's all the same to me at 20 to 12 on a Saturday night.

Getting better. I changed a voltage option and now the board boots above 1.55v. I'm sure it's got more in it.

Ram is at 213mhz

Speedfan is working now.

CPU at -c15c

I'm whacking the volts in the bios right up and booting into windows at 2.8 (24/7 speed) then using clockgen to get that final bit further.

Next I'm going to try putting an 80m Delta over the mosfets and see if that helps.
