US: When do you dump a show?

I dump shows when I feel like I'm watching them as more of a chore than out of enjoyment. If I'm not genuinely looking forward to watching the next episode of something then that's a good sign I should try and drop it.

Could be anytime between a couple of episodes in and multiple seasons in, if i'm not enjoying it i stop watching. I sometimes go back and enjoy at a later date though as they're not always dropped for being bad, sometimes i'm just not in the mood.

So far this past year i've dumped:

American Crime (i'll probably go back and binge it though)
Blindspot
Chicago Med
Grimm
Legends of Tomorrow
Quantico
Shades of Blue
Shadowhunters
Stan Lees Lucky Man
The Family
Vinyl

and probably more that i can't remember at the moment.

When it's more of a chore to watch than enjoyment.

Prison Break started losing it around season 3, I dropped it before 4. Likewise with Dexter.
I found the acting in Walking Dead kinda cringy, dropped it a few eps into season 2.

The only exception is with Lost. I wasn't even that into it and found it pretty stupid and boring with no direction around season 4-5, but I figured I had gone that far, so I stuck it out and finished it. Didn't really feel anything when people die later in the series, I was just going through the motions.

That's a shame, Dexter season 4 was fantastic!

Tend to give any show a good 4-6 episodes, but if things are getting stale and boring they can be ditched mid or after few seasons.

Some shows however I feel obligated to watch till the end, Lost Girl (now cancelled) and supernatural even person of interest, certain shows will always stick with them till the end !

Am on the verge of giving up blindspot, second chance, colony and few other shows, ditched magicians, shadowhunters, black sails recently, keepers are twd, all dc/marvel shows peroid and few others.

I only watch the very best of shows like game of thrones, etc every week.

All others I wait until the full season is over or a few seasons then watch an episode or two per day.

It makes the more boring shows more watchable this way.

The only show I couldn't wait til the next episode aired was breaking bad. No other show apart from game of thrones has done that for me in quite a while.

Done with Limitless, the most recent ep on Sky was garbage. It's trying too hard to be funny and failing miserably in the process.

Funny how all of these recently-rebooted franchises (X-Files, Heroes, Limitless) have turned out pretty poorly.

After the 2nd episode of a first season. Last one I droppe was Penny Dreadful. Made no sense and felt very disjointed.

Saying that, I'm 3 episodes into the 4th Season of Vikings and wondering whether I should chuck it in.
