Each pallet probably weighs a tonne or so. The truck probably weighs a couple of tonnes. There's a lot of weight hanging around there, so it only takes a little force to make a big problem.

Just saying this makes me cringe, but im pretty sure i saw this video a number of years ago on a general video site.

It is impressive for the domino effect and hadnt seen it in ages, makes you wonder how it got to the news though.

There's dozens of these kind of videos about the place. Forklifts and racking and stuff are incredibly dangerous and people die or get injured all the time working around these. It looked like the guy stayed in the cab in this instance which was the best option and he is protected there. There's a nother video recently of some dude who clipped a wide load on the edge of a rack and took the rack down and he jumped out the cab trying to run away and nearly gets squashed. here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2e6rw6r6PE

this is also why it's a good idea for people not using the forklift to keep distance away as it shows how fast an accident can happen. It's too easy for someone to be pinned and crushed against a wall/rack by a forklift if a driver doesn't notice or someone is standing in a stupid place.

Indeed, massive weights stacked up that high can easily cause serious harm to people in an accident. It may well have been a slightly different video in the past, big warehouses with forklifts and crashing all look the same after a while

I thought it was the same as well but it was a different video, that guy only took out one side of shelving and there wasnt as much carnage!
