When fully erect, how big is your...tent

Mine's a 6 man and was near on £700 IIRC.

Funny story, it got delivered in a giant box and I was like "OMGROFLLULZ, thats big". Anyway, I hadn't unpacked it when the following morning I noticed that the box said "1 of 2" on the side of it.

Just as I was thinking "oh", the doorbell rang. I was expecting a small box maybe full of pegs, string, etc. No, imagine my surprise when a box exactly the same size as the first one arrived. Only this one just had the poles in it. :(

A straight 2.1m tall the entire length of the tent means I can stand up anywhere! :)

Normally it's just me and the missus though :o

Jeeze, I paid less than 70 quid for mine, in the pic above. It sleeps 8 officially. However, each sleeping compartment can sleep 5-6 easily, with a load more in the central area if required... Its also a tunnel tent, so even tall people can stand up along its length.

Mine is a Rage tent. Its lasted me 4 years now, and needed a couple of fixes every now and again, and has had a re-waterproofing once with a Hellfrauds spray :)

http://www.rageoutdoor.com/bergen8.htm - can be bought cheaper on fleabay (still brand new)

Nice, it's difficult to explain my tents construction. It's not a shelly fabric like yours, its full on thick material, never needs waterproofing or re-waterproofing, etc Thing weighs a ton though, it's purely a drive to and erect tent.

Fair enough :)

I just baulked a bit at the price tag!!

There is a lot of "brand snobbery" with tents it seems. Having spent a few nights under tents of various brands from sub ten quid tesco tents, to multiple hundreds of quid top brands, there is little real difference!

And I felt it excessive when I went camping with my wife in August just gone, in our 4 man tent with mahoosive awning! :p

I've had 8 people in there or 6 with their kit.
you'ed not want more than 2 guys in their tho or it starts to smell after a couple of days camping!

That must have been a bit of a squeeze! Painful?

12"

Sorry, misread title. :o

Unlucky dude...;)

Weight and ability to withstand bad weather tbh, the more expensive the tent (comparative to its similar sized compeitors) the lighter it is, unless it's an arctic tent, in which case it'll be heavy, but survive a force 9 at the top of everest.:p

Got a 4 person (well 2 person if they' 6'4). Last and only use was at the Nurburg 24hr race. Still have my Tranger too somewhere.
