Gary Lineker drops in on his former nemesis Diego Maradona. The documentary will be shown on BBC Television in the run-up to the 2006 World Cup.

I am no fan on Maradona, but this will be quite interesting to say the least, and I wonder what questions Lineker will have for the cheating sumbag

BBC

He might of cheated, but still the Greatest Player of his era, and perhaps all time, and has led an incredibly amazing life, hence making that programme so watchable.

He did no worse than Drogba and Gamst-Pederson have done lately, and, given the chance, Lineker would have done the same!.

Hopefully he will taunt him back, arnt you the man who sold himself out to some cheese and onion potato seller? :p

Being booked has nothing to do with it...if the chance presented it'self, Lineker would have put it in with his hand.

Besides, Maradona wasn't particularly sneaky about it, it's the officials fault it counted, not his.

Come again? Bitter?

I know Linekar is unbiased about it all and knows what a great player Marodona was. One of the greatest players there ever was, ahead of the overrated Pele by about 100 places.

I most people eyes he is one of the greatest and sure I'll even admit that, but it doesn't change the facts of what he did, or who he became

Lol, I think 1,281 goals in 1,321 games speaks for itself.

Pele is God. :p

OK. Most goals scored with Santos, oh yeah forgot what a great league that was. Then there was Brazil, only the famous Brazil team of all time per chance? Fact of the matter is Pele has always been around great players. Maradona was on his own, With Napoli in Italy one of the toughest leagues in the world as well as Argentina. That is greatness.

Yes Pele is a legend in his own right but he has nothing on Maradona.

Who he became is irrelevant and nothing to do with us. What he did he got away with like so many others. You take your chances. Would Moore or Charlton got the same stick if they had 'cheated' their way to a goal at some point in 66' I don't think so.

You mean like Beckham when he got sent off in the game against the Bargies in France 98 :p ;)

Why is he a cheating scumbag?
He lifted his arm up and punched the ball into the goal and none of the officials saw it.
Did you expect him to say "Sorry ref, I punched it in, its not a goal" or are you living in a fantasy world?
I can remember a couple of seasons later that Lineker slyly handled the ball into the net during an international match but he was seen.
Maradonna did nothing that every other player on the planet would try to get away with if they could.
The question that should be asked was why Shilton was a foot lower than a dwarf jumping in the air?
