Do you avoid reading/learning other material?

For example when I'm studying such as now I find I do not read any books or many articles etc. This is probably more applicable to myself as I would only read to learn stuff rather than a novel for pleasure. I would read about nutrition for example and feel I should avoid this during revision time as its entirely unrelated and I fear by absorbing knowledge from a nutrition book im 'taking up space' as such which revision material could.

Im assuming the same applies to novels as you're keeping track of storylines etc - of course this is probably all nonsense but it doesnt stop me doing this (just in case)

Was just wondering if im alone in this or if anyone else has odd habits like this?

In fact probably worse is that I always move back home during the study break and become a total recluse so I focus just on revision...with varying success

Revision? Pah. Do what I did, completely ignore your book and spend each and every night playing grand theft auto san andres on line.

That's what I did and my life turned out great!

Oh wait :(

I don't usually consciously avoid it, but I might end up just sitting in front of TV/youtube more often that usual instead of reading a book purely because I've had enough reading from my textbooks and just don't feel like it.

Always read books, regardless of whether or not I'm in revision mode. I found during revision that a few chapters before bed would take my mind off exams and help me sleep.

Reading a book is a great way to relax I find. After having a day of sitting at my desk staring at paper, it's nice to go and sit in bed and immerse yourself in another world.

I try to avoid it but normally I see something I don't understand and next thing I know is I'm reading some weird, barely related topic on wiki.

Reading before bed is a must, otherwise I find it impossible to sleep the night before. I generally find it has little effect to memory recall as I am not trying to memorise the book.

When I revise, there is only revision

lol exactly the way I am. I had a good system where I studied for about 3hours, then ate, then back to it. Or if I was becoming frustrated i'd play a map or 2 of cod for 30minutes tops then back to it. Tried to do this with TF2 on a pc, it failed miserably, therefore tf2 has been uninstalled. No weights at this house but attempting to do short bouts of training, not really working though, doesn't zone me out
