As titled I am going to be getting a new graphics card for Arma 3 in the winter and I was wondering when the next Titan killer is expected?

I don't want ATI as there graphics drivers are too flaky, my 7950, 5870, 4870 1950 have all been a nightmare! Everytime I buy Nvidia it feels like God has approved their drivers and they simply just work.

we're talking about a card that has no template (like the titan, which is a rebadged quadro), will be a fair sum more than $1000 if released anytime soon, and has no rumours... it's not going to happen lol. the next nvidia card to beat a titan will be the gtx 880 in at least a year

edit: gtx 785... eh? that sounds interesting.

You have a looooooong time (relatively speaking) to wait, since the Titans were just released.

1 year plus for the Titan "Killer", unless AMD pulls out something fantabulous (which they probably will) towards the end of this year/start of the next.

Let's just condense this throll thread into something a little more linear.

You're not waiting for the Titan killer, your waiting for Nvidia to react to AMD's Titan killer.

Jesus H Christ, so I have to continue to use this AMD 7950 junk card for 12 months???!??

Nah, you can always sell and buy one of these...

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gainward GeForce GTX Titan 6144MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £827.99
1 x Asus GeForce GTX Titan 6144MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £799.99
Total : £1,639.38 (includes shipping : £9.50).

Or one of these.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Asus GeForce GTX 780 PCI-Express 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £587.99
1 x EVGA GeForce GTX 780 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (03G-P4-2781-KR) £569.99
Total : £1,169.38 (includes shipping : £9.50).

If it's that bad throw it in the skip and buy a 780/titan.

As mentioned the 'titan killer' is likely to come with AMD stamped on it then nvidias next range (Maxwell?) Should topple that and so on.

What issues are you having with AMD drivers anyhow?

I think you need to question your ability to configure your computer correctly - than jump on the AMD drivers bandwagon.

And for the record I'm one of the most critical of AMD drivers in recent times, but they have moved on from the past.

Sounds like PEBKAC to me.

I went from 8800GT to 4890 to 6970 to 7950 not had a single problem, ever.

Nvidia have their driver problems just as AMD do. Your experience might be otherwise but to have had driver issues with all of those cards is erm..unlucky?

it's an insulting and sweeping statement to constantly say "pebcak" every time someone complains about drivers. that seems to be more of a bandwagon than amd driver complaints these days. tbh the 7xxx drivers have visibly improved A LOT but that still doesn't mean there aren't obvious flaws remaining. i'm nothing more than a casual gamer and even i can see lots of bugs/flaws in the drivers. i think they're currently acceptable for single gpu setups but they weren't acceptable for quite a long time. and multi-gpu just isn't very nice atm. if the guy wants an nvidia gpu then so be it :/

obviously i personally think my 7950 is awesome, and it puts any nvidia gpu to shame in terms of value, but whatever.

Find a problem, report it & put it in the drivers thread, doesn't help anyone by simply posting 'AMD drivers are junk' ;)

Even a bad driver install can cause lots of issues which is easy to sort out - sweep and reinstall.

I don't think it's insulting nor was it meant to be. But having "driver problems" over all those cards would indicate another problem rather than "AMD sucky drivers".

I was simply pointing out that Nvidia have had their share of issues of late and that his history suggests something other than 'sucky drivers'. Others seem to agree with me in the thread to be honest so don't pigeon hole my comment as simply defending AMD's drivers.....
