will they notify me in anyway. I'm on three but a mate on vodaphone said he has always had to ring up and ask for an upgrade ?

some companies do some dont, vodafone sometimes do but not a lot as there'd be hundreds of thousands of people to phone up every day if they did.

depends on the type of customer you are. they will have software that will look at your account/spending habbits and then determine if they should try and keep you as a customer. if so, they'll prob call you. if not, if you want to stay with vodafone you should call them

As Kappa says, due to the huge volumes of customers Vodafone wouldn't make direct outbound upgrade calls the moment the contract passes the minimum commitment period date. Your best bet is to check your commitment date with a free call to customer services (191 from the handset). They can either transfer you through to the upgrades department or it's possible to reach the upgrades team directly by selecting option 4 then option 2. If you've got 60 days left on your minimum term commitment (e.g. 12 months, 18 months) then you can still upgrade.

It's unlikely they will contact you.
If they don't contact you then you just move to a month-by-month contract, they don't lose any money etc.
If they contact you and talk about upgrades then they have to let you have a new handset at an initial loss to the network and hope they can make the money back over the next 12/18 months.

Once you're out of contract you'll be wanting to give them a call if you want a new phone or a different deal.

It's good if they don't contact you if anything, third party companies will phone up and pretend to be the company and get you into a new contract so never take a contract out by a incoming call, if they offer you something say thanks ill call you back tomorrow then ring 150 or your handset and do it that way or whatever!! That way atleast you know its definately the company and not some random.

I would be surprised if they contacted you, after all they'd rather you kept paying the line rental without getting a new phone out of them! If anyone does call, be very careful, there are lots of scammers out there and it's probably safer to phone back to be sure you're talking to the right people.

ok cheers guys, I'll give 3 a call and see what phones they can offer me but im not sure what i want..... or what they have ....
