When people let you down...

I lean on Meggy-V usually.. If not, Then I play a nice violent game or watch a good film to forget it...

I have complete faith in my circle of friends, and immediate members of my family.
If I was let down by somebody I tend to blame myself for putting my trust in them and so I would blame myself for slack judgement. I choose my friends wisely, and I have zero regrets about that. So who do i lean on? well, I rarely feel the need, but the above mentioned do the job.

I've always wondered if anyone has been able to fully master emotions and learn to completely ignore them.

For example, and this is a horrible example but it conveys what I mean, if a close relative passed away; it wouldn't get to you even if you loved them with all your heart.

Or if you had literally the WORST day of your life. Instead of sitting there thinking what went wrong. You can just laugh, put your feet up in front of the TV with a beer, and relax.

I let it build inside and then try and sleep it off. It's mostly myself letting myself down though so I don't see why I should bring others into it.

Maybe I'm being very simplistic, but I suppose I'm a believer in karma - Que Será, Será.
Or I could just quote the poignant UT saying of 'Life is pain, get over it' ;)

Isn't that called being a sociopath?
Not having really emotions but faking them to make people do what you want?

I've seen it mentioned a lot in one of the columbine killers.

Also. Rely on metal. Bit of slayer and evrything's alright.

I was let down by a so called 'best mate'. I tend to turn inwards with my emotions and just suck it up and get on with it rather than sit around needing people to help me wallow in self pity.

i was let down by a so called "mate" and i (for some really stupid reason) just stare out of the window at the sky and go in a day-dream (LOL sounds really stupid dont it) :D

I think he means the opposite, where you don't let anything bother you and don't bring your problems to other people.

Sort of like: "Hello how are you doing today?", "I'm alright, my mam just passed away today but apart from that everything is good." Or you may not even mention it at all.

Don't think it's possible. When my mam's guniea pigs died I managed to hold back the tears but when she started crying I shed one and had to get a tissue :o

I've never lost a relative since I was very little but I very much doubt I could take it in my stride.

Sometimes it's nice to just let it all out to be honest and have someone there to comfort you.

I've never been let down, really. But If I did it would be my mam always first choice + my best friends.

No one, i dont have anybody.

My life is a constant stream of people letting me down, both at work and in my private life.
You expect things, you are told things will be done, no, PROMISED things will done and they just dont care.
You get used to it.
