When to upgrade?

Hi all,

Recently my HD6970 went kaput as a result of my lax cleaning regime (and the HAF 932 being a dusty old girl!). I bought a R7 250x which is working beautifully and does what I need.

The rest of my build dates from early 2009:

I7 920
Gigabyte EX58-UD3R
6gb Corsair XMS3 DDR3

Would it be worth upgrading these parts now or is there a few years left in them? I use my PC for everything from gaming (CS:GO atm) to simple browsing and word documents.

Does your system struggle in any area and do you have an SSD ?

120gb force series 3 SSD running OS and 640gb WD HDD.

I don't think it is but I haven't experienced newer components so I'm not sure.

Only upgrade when you need to.

My stepson's pc is fine for dota and that's all he plays (pentium and 7850).

If it struggles with whatever game he gets into next then he'll upgrade.

You don't need much to play csgo, poor graphically and not demanding. If the system plays everything you want to play then leave it.
