Did you stop to think that she's likely much older than you, and also clearly not so tech savvy?

Conmen have been praying on people for years without the internet, whether in person or through the post.

It did get out of hand with this woman and she was naive to have given such a large sum of money to somebody she didn't know, but just because she trusted somebody and was also looking for some company in her life, it doesn't mean she has mental health issues.

Let's not forget who the person in the wrong is in this situation.
