I'm a little confused about the use of Cache-control: private in the header. Can anyone enlighten me?

In essence 'Cache-control: private' means the response is intended for a single user only and must not be cached by a shared cache (for example your ISP's cache servers), as opposed to public where anyone can cache it, and no-cache where it must not be cached
