Hi all,

Just wondering if you have any upgrade plans?

Im uncertain weather to upgrade my AGP sk939 system to PCI or just wait untill the conroe ships are realesed and get a complete new set-up.

End of july, beginning of august. I sold my old rig a few weeks ago and I am running a Sempron with SiS onboard graphics. :p

Got my eye on a E6600 conroe and an X1900XT.

I would suggest you wait for conroe if you have the £s. :)
 
I would need a new graphics card too (Im guessing the new conroe boards are PCI).

My current setup;

3000+ Winnie
abit AV8
3200 512mb Ram
9800PRO

Would I be able to use my memory with the new conroe boards?

How much would a new conroe chip/board/graphics set me back?

Me too! I'm gonna run it off my current 17" monitor so I can play about with the resolutions in-game to see which monitor size I should upgrade to, probably 20" widescreen!
 
Will be around October give my rig a refresh if it needs it.

October/November 2007 I will give a new rig a shot.

I never adopt early, pay a premium for worse performance than the current generation in everything bar benchies, with unproven reliability, no thanks.
 
Going to finally make the jump to a TFT in the next two-three weeks, next up is going to be a new case (Lian Li) and PSU (Enermax Liberty probably) with some nice LEDS/Fans etc. Also a graphics card and Vista around Christmas/January time depending on prices. Then around July 2007 I might finally build a new rig possibly Conroe.
 
Well I just ordered a new keyboard, mousepad, cpu cooler and a few new shiny fans. In the next few weeks, I'll be buying a new mouse and an Ice3 X1900XT. And finally sometime in July/August, I'll be switching to a Conroe.
Then sometime early next year I'll be picking up a DX10 card (or maybe end of this year), and probably a new processor.

Now all I need is some more money...
 
I plan to see if AMD do indeed cut prices in a few weeks like they say they will, if so I will be picking up an Athlon X2 3800+ for around £99 (or Conroe) and a motherboard to fit it.

After that I plan to leave my computer alone until the middle of 2007, when DirectX 10 begins to kick off properly, and then build a whole new system based on whatever is cutting-edge at the time.
 
Tweaking a few things to my current system (4400+ 7900GT) but looking to go to a complete new system in about July next year for the same reasons as given by a couple of previous posters.
 
Haven't been keeping up atm but with all this stuff about conroe not until conroe and the next gen graphics cards are out
 
At the moment I have a 146 operteron and an x1900xtx. I am in the process of converting everything to water with a custom w/c setup. So not for a while yet, more likely next year. I am actively interested in the conroe though, but I will wait for dx10 cards and upgrade the whole lot in a big whack :)
 
I think i'll stick with what i have, wait for dx10 and get a new card. Other than that i cant see dual core really kicking off till vista so keep my chip/ram for a while...
 
my current PC is just over a year old but wasnt much of an upgrade from my last one (only a 3.2Ghz P4 etc). I'm serioulsy considering switching to a mac mini

Snap, I too am upgrading at that time and are also running a sempron with SIS Mirage onboard graphics. Feel the power ;)
