when's the new doctor who start?

I think "Water's of Mars" (Still David Tennant) is on around Halloween time with the last special on around Christmas.

The eleventh doctor will be on sometime in 2010.

Or at least when is the next special.

Thanks anyone who knows :)

Some info here man which you might find interesting:

Story Notes
"The Waters of Mars" is an upcoming special which is due to air "around November-ish". Russell T Davies confirmed it on BBC Breakfast on 7 April 2009, when he came to talk about Planet of the Dead. As of mid-April 2009 a broadcast date has not yet been announced, however Davies said on BBC Breakfast that a "November-ish" date was being considered (previously it had been indicated the special wouldn't air until closer to Christmas 2009). The BBC did not confirm the broadcast date of Planet of the Dead until a week prior to its broadcast; therefore it is assumed a confirmed date for the broadcast of The Waters of Mars won't be made available until late in 2009.
As Lindsay Duncan has been cast as a companion, she is the oldest actor to play a companion since the beginning of the series, although this title will be taken away from her in the next episode when Bernard Cribbins becomes the Doctor's companion.
Russell T Davies has said in Doctor Who Magazine that this will be a very scary episode of Doctor Who, as he described it "nightmarish". Therefore it may be be broadcast on Saturday 31st October, Halloween.
Julie Gardner said on the Easter Doctor Who Confidential that another Your Song is Ending style reference will be made in this episode as well as playing a massive part last 2 specials.
The IMDB.com website have placed on their website that the broadcast date is the 14th November 2009. Whether this is true is yet to be revealed.

So Water's of Mars is very soon and it looks like End of Time looks will be the Christmas Special.

Having finally bothered to watch all the new Doctor Whos this year, and having caught up from Tennant to Planet of the Dead, I have to say I'm not a big fan of the specials. Too self contained. What I like about the series is how even the most seemingly unconnected of episodes would end up with its time period being revisited, or even the most inconsequential of actions within it playing into something else somewhere. The specials just don't have that. Oh no, something bad is going to happen! Oh here's the doctor, random person becomes companion, spot of difficulty, problem solved, hooray, companion finds excuse to leave/dies.

they;re still filming it at the moment I think, so not very soon...

All the David Tennant stuff has been filmed. The next special is around halloween, the exact week its on ties in with the Doctors appearance in Sarah Jane Aventures. The last two are on xmas and new year.

Series 5 is currently been filmed, theyve shot several episodes already inclding episodes with daleks and river song. They are currently shooting wpisode 1 which picks up right after the regeneration with Doc11 still waering Doc10s outfit.

I have to say the new companion is well fit.

Check out the gallifray base forums, loads of set reports and spoilers in there :)

Well i thought the epiosde was decent enough although it felt like it ended before it even got going imo. It certainly wasn't as nightmarish, creepy or terrifying as the trailers might have suggested (certainly not in comparison to the likes of blink, the empty child and midnight).

I liked the Doctor getting drunk with power so to speak at the end of the episode, the sudden arrogance and 'god complex' that he got at the end of the episode was the creepiest part imo.

I saw the ending coming a mile off though.

Looking forward to the christmas/new years specials. John Simm was fantastically charismatic as The Master so they should be fun to watch.

Who/what was that thing that appeared at the end of the episode and had Dr. Who asking "Is it time? Is it now?"

that was an ood.

I thought the episode was really good, a little slow paced and waffley at times but the ending was fantastic and really dark. How did they get away with implied suicide on a family show though?!?!?
