when's the new doctor who start?

Who/what was that thing that appeared at the end of the episode and had Dr. Who asking "Is it time? Is it now?"

Its Ood Sigma who was last seen in Plant of The Ood. It was the Ood who forst told the doctor that basically his times almost up

God help the parents of any child with a leaky bedroom ceiling tonight :D

That was a great episode; really quite dark. The more I've seen of Tennant as The Doctor, the more I've grown to like him, so it's bloody typical that this is his swansong.

Like many brought up on Tom Baker's incarnation, I had my doubts about reviving the programme, especially given the number of false starts and the unconvincing "Eccleston And Piper Battle Invaders; Cardiff Tourist Board Looks On With Fingers Crossed" early days of this new push.

However, it's episodes like this - and from everything I've read Blink [still not seen it yet!] - that completely justify the decision.

Cracking TV :)

Blink and The Girl In The Fireplace are really the pinnacle for me, Sophia Myles' performance in particular still brings me close to tears. In fact any episide written by Steven Moffat is just brilliant. He is to the Doctor Who license what Joss Whedon was to the X-Men license.

Really enjoyed that. Not looking forward to seeing david tennant go tbh as I think he's fantastic in the role. I doubt the new guy will come close but I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

The episode reminded me of Scooby Doo with all the running.

Running down this corridor, bit of chat, running up this corridor, bit of chat, running down this corridor while another guy runs up another corridor. I half expected Gadget to say Ruh-roh and the Dr to say to the Ood that he would have got away with it if it wasnt for those pesky kids. :)

Think my favourites are blink and midnight. I like episodes that are different to others, don't want to see daleks/cybermen every 3 episodes ffs! Have some imagination.

Great episode I thought. Nice to see having 900 years of watching everyone die finally catching up with him. Could have done without the robot mind...

Just watched it on iPlayer and it was very good. I think there are certain episodes when they get serious that really shine. This one was one of them, with the doctor realising he can't help. Blink was also good, the one with the stopwatch as well (where he becomes de-timelorded) and the one with the "Devil".

I was a little confused as to why he would ask why it was time because he saw an Ood, however makes sense now, although why it was there in the first place... How they are going to get over the 10th reincarnation problem as well, especially with his end apparently being near, could be interesting.

I quite enjoy these Dr Who specials. Almost makes me wish I watched them more regularly - ah well, it won't be long until the Tennant boxset is available. :p

Can't wait for the Xmas special now actually. A good dose of cheese never hurt anyone. :p

I agree with you about the more serious episodes thought Amp34. Despite the obvious cheese-factor, the last episode - as many others have - really shine in some respects. I have to give credit to some of the scriptwriting really.
