where are people going for New Years Eve?

Will probably go to a bar with friends in the end but I would much rather a house gathering of some sort as it's so annoying travelling around london on NYE and it's usually bloody cold!
 
Living room trying to keep the dog from being terrified from fireworks.

Best thing about new year? Christmas is over and days are getting longer
