where are people going for New Years Eve?

Will probably go to a bar with friends in the end but I would much rather a house gathering of some sort as it's so annoying travelling around london on NYE and it's usually bloody cold!

Last new year we did away was Krakow and that was awesome, the local dives far better than the big posh places.

I think that's a step too far.

Same here. Rota'd in over Christmas (23-26th) and then again over New Years (31st-3rd).

Tbh last year we didn't stay til midnight, went to bed about 10. Got up and went to a nearby viewpoint and watched the sun rise, much nicer way to see in the new year imo!

Well, this year, have now arranged to go stay with family on the isle of Skye for hogmanay, so that'll be decent.

Occasionally we do something but often the Mrs is working, fortunately this year she isn't. I would like to go away and celebrate in some fashion but the liklihood is a decent home cooked dinner and a board game or something maybe with a couple drinks.
