Where can I buy a TV with a fatter frame and weighs heavier?

I don't know why you are spending money on a new tv. Just get a free one off gumtree. People are giving away what she wants. Or wall mount the new tv and get rid of the stand on gumtree.

Okay, so she doesn't get what she wants. It sounds like you've spent too long enabling troublesome and demanding behaviour.

82, 24/7 oxygen, Palliative Care, End of Life Care Plan and 2 days a week at Douglas MacMillan - personally I think she deserves to be demanding before her death.
I'd like to make her happy if I can for the amount of time she's got left.

yeah but what she is demanding doesn't exist. not for brand new anyway.

also it's a tv we aren't asking her to start wearing second hand underwear.

Get a LCD TV and get a custom bespoke cupboard made up.

ou don't know my Mother, there is no way she would allow anything second hand or free into the house.

Sounds a right snob. I've bought plenty of second hand products which have been mint and saving thousands of pounds.

Sounds a right snob.

No, she's a very proud woman who is house bound and hasn't got many months left so wants nice things before she dies.
She has spent a load of money on decorating, new doors, new kitchen units, new fridge because she has to look at it all day because she can't do anything else.
if she is sitting there looking at something for hours on end she wants it on her terms.
Perhaps when you've grown up a bit and have a bit more empathy you might be able to see it from somebody else's viewpoint.

HOWEVER, yesterday she made me ring up a local family run shop who she has had all her TVs from.
I left the speaker on so she could hear the conversation.
Basically the guy on the other end laughed when I requested a TV with a bigger frame and a bit more weight and couldn't help us.
My Mum finally got the message that it wasn't going to happen so has agreed to have a larger TV with physical buttons that she can press.
You can call her a snob again but she does like to use the buttons on a TV to change channels or turn the volume up sometimes.
I just hope they still make them.

When I have grown up? Maybe you should look in the mirror?

What she wants doesn't exist. This is why the guy laughed at you both because your requesting magic beans.

If she wants a fat tv with buttons then it's going to be second hand. There is nothing degrading about buying second hand and there is nothing to be proud about buying brand new either. You both need to get off your high horses and deal with reality here.

Either get a new slim tv or an old second hand fat tv. It's as simple as that. Nothing to do with empathy or being proud or childish/grown up.

Why don't you go out and try and buy a brand new VCR too and see how many people laugh at you and tell you to go get a second hand one?

Sounds like what she would be better off spending her money on would be a VR setup tbh that way she can live in whatever surroundings she wants.

Lol, since when have you been hornetstinger?
You need to read peoples posts :)
or have you got two accounts?

If I look around my room now I'm looking at a lot of second hand gear so I have no idea what you're on about or do you mean my Mum?
What's so hard to understand that she is dieing and wants to go out with what she wants?
Is that so unreasonable, really?
Look into your heart a little bit, my Mum wants an old style TV but brand new if possible, is that really an unreasonable request?
Is it worth arguing about?

we have already told you. they don't exist.

it's like asking for a old CRT monitor for PC gaming. i understand she is old. but she needs to understand they don't exist any more. technology has moved on. if she wants one then her only hope is second hand which she also has issues with.

it's like saying i want a 1960's mustang but it must be brand new. well how does that work?

Actually they do so it's not rcorrect to say they don't exist -
Bush, Sony, Hitachi, Samsung & Cello all have the TV she is after but not in the right size or colour.

Here's a couple -

This thread is honestly ridiculous. You talk about how she wants all of the best fittings in her house. New doors, new carpets, fresh paint. Then you are looking at the worst made tv's possible with the worst and cheapest panels made. Yet she wants "quality" and new. They are also 720P in the bigger panel.
