Where can I find an Elven Bow?

They sell them in a sword shop in town.. i'm guessing it'd be easy to find via Google :)

You know, like in lord of the rings.

Proper one, that curves back on it's self, like a handlebar tash.

Ninja-edit: I want it to be quite Orante, a bit of gold (or gold leaf) etc etc.

And you want it to be under £40? A hand made working "elven" bow will cost a few hundred pounds. Don't go to high street that sells "stainless steel" swords for £30.

If you want something of quality, google search for archery forums.

A bow that curves back on itself? You mean a compound bow then! Anyway, Elves use longbows in general and you can't fire one of them from the back of a horse.

For serious archery you need a nice moden bow, or a traditional longbow if you are man enough to pull one (they can go to over 100lb draw)

If you want to ponce around look for LRP/LARP shops on the Internet or ask at your local roleplay store...

A compound bow doesnt curve back on itself, it uses a system of pulleys to reduce the weight of the string once drawn, allowing the user to hold the bow at full draw with minimal effort - very popular for hunting and competitions - but you wont have seen them in LOTR ;)

You are thinking of a recurve bow, where the ends curve forwards, but the main shaft is single curved.

I don't remember seeing any longbows in LOTR.

Mongolian recurve bows are even more curvaceous, and I think the lothlorien elvish bows may have more in common with these, especially Haldir's bow for example:

Indeedy, a compound bow has pulleys on it.

I believe hunting bows are much shorter and have a lot more curve on them. For some reason Madagascan hunting bows spring to mind but I have never shot one myself, only recurve and compound :)

Edit: Mongolian hunting bows it is then, knew I was close ;)

Why not just hack down a tree, fashion one and enchant (since Elven weapons are usually magic) it yourself?

If you can kill any fat dwarfs with ginger beards along the way, all the better.
