Where can I get a cat from?

People did, because some people don't realise that you don't have to buy animals.

Bit OT but there was an animal rescue stand at Elvington air show last year and they had brought a few kittens along. There were some kids poking them going 'ask how much they are and see if mum will buy us one'.

There's a rescue stand that sets up in the Metro Centre regularly...Every time I go past, I have to cuddle the old black and white moggy that they have.

It's not an impulse purchase we have talked about and lindz had a cat at her mum and dads. So i think we will be ok i want to take on a rescue cat but it's just awkard with the hours the shelters open

try and give them a call and let them know you are interested. Most shelters are 'manned' 24/7 and they may well make an appointment for you to go see them after hours. We did at the RSPCA - can't really turn down people who want to adopt an animal.

kittens make people happy this is fact.

Try your local cats protection..
You will be phoned back by someone and will arrange a home visit. As long as you are able to look after the cats well then you should pass. eg. feed them enough times a day when they are young if you get a kitten. You can then go visit cats at the fosterers house at a mutually suitable time

I didn't realise they made home visits to check your suitablilty. I have found a giner cat that is 2 on a local recuses website. Sent an email to the guy so hopefully wheels in motion etc.

Most of them do, especially the bigger organisations, they have a responsibility to make sure the animal isn't going to be mistreated and end up back there. Smaller local rescues may not.

We got our kitten 2 weeks ago on Sunday. My fiancee was angling for a pet, but we agreed on a kitten. Looked in local pet shops and in the Ad Mag/local paper, but all we sold.

Luckily, a women on my fiancee's Facebook had a couple of kittens who she just wanted a good home for. So we ended up with a 9 week old moggy for nowt :D

Needs injections, another batch of worming and flea stuff. Then neutering later on - all expenses you've considered?

I want a kitten now :( Just been looking on the RSPCA website (Not that we'd pass the homecheck anyway!)

Why not, Vix?

I'd assume that they don't want cats left for 8 hours plus 5 days a week. Goggles is fine with it but I don't think it's ideal.

Plus there's the fact that Goggles is a total psycho and they'd be worried I'd only want a kitten to feed to her :/ :D To be fair, I am a little worried that Goggles would eat a kitten :(
