Where can I get the highest possible FPS in a game?

The Sims 3 makes my card coil whine quite badly, I don't think I have heard it in anything else though.

One of my 290's Likes to whine abit. But when mining they are silent. When in game they can scream. I just turn my speakers up or ignore it and after a while it just fades into the background noise

I would also check its not whining due to the psu, a 130w x58 chip along side a power hungry 290x might be a little rough on a corsair 520w unit!

I have a 650W Seasonic PSU, haven't updated my specs yet .

The original dead space menu screen had my fps through the roof.

The menu screen from Crysis has always been a screamer for me.

As others have said though, it may be worth considering an RMA if it's that bad.

Yeah this for me also. My 6990 really hated that main menu and made me aware of it

My sons 6970 whines a lot with his 500w antec PSU, athough the card was fine when i had it with some mobo ram ect but i had a better psu,so i assume it could be PSU related ?

could running heaven in a loop still help in my/his case ?
