Where can I learn to park?

Parallel parking is fairly easy, backs of the cars lined up, one complete turn left (space on your left, do opposite if its on the right), reverse till the curb is in your mirrors to make some triangle, one full turn back straight, back till the triangle in the mirror goes away, one full turn right to bring her in, correct with extra/less turn if needed.

Pretty simple (despite almost never needing too so I am horribly out of practice).

Reverse bay parking, swing out, put in reverse, don't hut anything, park, proft?

Also pretty simple...

why reverse park anyway ? il never understand people who do this at supermarkets then have to squeeze infront of someone else bonnet to put their shopping in the boot

actually i do have to do this every now and again at work but only when the only space is one where the corners too tight for going forwards

This. Also very confused why people do it in airport car parks and then struggle to get cases out ...

Went to local supermarket. First one between just lines went ok, maybe a little bit too far to the left. Second one I did it in a real spot between cars was okay, had to adjust a fair bit though. Third time went swimingly, smack bang between the cars. I think my problem a couple of days ago was poor visibility, my rear passenger windows were all iced up still which meant it was pretty hard to see what my rear was doing. I'm pretty sure I'll be fine from now on. Excellent.

I am a terrible parker. I have to make sure I have a bit more extra room than the average joe to make up for that. Don't get me wrong I can do it, but I just can't do the manly thing of parallel parking into a gap the exact length of your car in a single attempt.

The worst parker I ever saw was a young girl once when I went to my gym. She drove into a space at a 45 degree angle and she kept trying to straighten up but just couldn't some how. Rather than do what most people would do at this point and drive off she got out of her car and ran to what ever she wanted to do lol.

In a few years it'll be fully automated. Just soldier on :p

DUMBING DOWN OF SOCIETY   ETC

Some Fords have this auto-parking.... Press a button, drive along and the car beeps to tell you that a suitable space has been found. It gets you to drive forward a bit then you just select reverse and start reversing. The car then does the steering for you....

Try doing it with just your side mirrors. It's much more accurate and easier using only the side mirrors as opposed to turning your head round.

To be fair... I can count on one hand the number of times that I have had to parallel park properly, rather than just driving in.
In a car park I drive in and reverse out.
In my first 3 years of driving I never once paralell parked. Moved to bristol.... big awakening, ahaha.

Yeah I knew about those kind of things. They're a few years from working fully though and being completely reliable.

It'll be nice when you just press a button, metaphorically put your feet up, and watch while the parking is done for you.

Work for a car rental place. I swear the guys I work with are absolute legends at parking. Line it up, load of revs and they're done in one swift movement. I'm also quickly increasing my skills having to reverse park up to 40 cars in a day including vans. Practice makes perfect.

I could use something like that.

I've always learned to turn in when your rear seat is at the end of the car in front ( or beside you at that time), and to turn back once your mirror is at the end of the car in front of you ( beside you)... Tried this in cars of various lengths and it's usually spot on...

As for reversing into a bay at 90 degrees, I simply start at an angle, not what I learned but just so much easier, job done within seconds...

why reverse park anyway ?

In the isle of man its illegal to reverse onto a main road so all parking on bays/driveways that are on a main road must be reversed into.

In England if you cause an accident whilst reversing onto a main road there is a very high chance you will be prosecuted for driving without due care and attention.

So why risk it?
