Where did you buy your sofas?

As thread title says really. I was warned away from DFS and SCS about terrible after sales service, and just the fact that the salesmen in there are so desperate and pesky that I don't even want to walk in there anymore.

So, now I'm looking at Furniture Village which is slightly more expensive but the quality seems better. Is there any other places I've missed out? Where did you buy your sofas? How happy are you with the service and quality of the place?

got a 7 seater corner sofa with bed underneath 4 years ago and is still as comfy as the day we got it.

Ikea is a good bet, if you have more to spend Natuzzi and BoConcept make really nice sofas

Glasswells. 6 years old, black leather and with some leather treatment tlc every couple of years, absolutely great.

Just yesterday I ordered a sofa from John Peters, a natuzzi corner piece.

The guy who I dealt with was really good, not pushy at all, just helpful.

He even agreed to lend me a sofa while my natuzzi is on order, as it takes 15 weeks for delivery.

not particularly comfy though for extended sittings

I got two from DFS. Found them very helpful and haven't had an issue with them.

Bought mine for £20 from a back street second hand shop about 15 years ago.
Had to repair the timber frame a few times and my Mrs has made "many" sets of covers since my mum bought her a sewing machine so its a bit like Triggers broom

I got mine from John Lewis, I am extremely happy with my purchase.
I wanted a contemporary sofa and it was quite a challenge to find what I wanted.

This site has been used by a few colleagues of mine just4sofas.com they've been really happy with them, think they only do leather though.

DFS. No problems with them at all. Miles better than SCS who I would never buy a sofa from again.

SCS were a complete nightmare, bugged the hell out of me, was like having a second shadow as I walked around the store.

Went to DFS instead and had great service, the woman was really nice and helpful and then when we did want to buy she sorted everything quick as you like and didnt bug us about stuff like insurance or the extras if we sis not want things.

We have purchased 3 different sofa's from DFS and never had a problem with their sales staff or the quality of the goods.

SCS on the other hand are a different thing altogether, i have never heard a good word said about their stuff.

A couple of friends have used Ikea and speak of them very highly too.

DFS - good sales service, and when we had an issue they were straight out. Lovely sofa, good quality and get to pay for it over 3yrs, what more could i want?
