Where do bumble bees live?

I had a bees next in my garden, we rang someone to come remove it but they said they arent aloud to because they're endangered species and that we had to leave them alone and they wouldnt hurt us and that eventually they would move and find a different home.

We had a wasp next in the attick and we paid someone £50 to come remove it.

Think they've gone now.

I've just removed the start of a wasp's nest from my garden shed, it was just around the size of a golf ball, couldn;t find the queen oddly, just one drone around it. So she'll be back.

My wife spotted it when she was going to the washing machine, simply hanging from the roof. Nasty. Some hexagonal cells and small eggs within, possibly larvae, crushed it a bit too swiftly, now on watch out in case they return.

Some live underground. I know this because when I was a kid I decided to poke a stick down a small hole, and was greeted by three very angry bees.
