Been listening to this a bit recently as most of the radio stations in this country pick three or four songs and play them until you wake up screaming I KNEW YOU WERE TROUBLE WHEN YOU WALKED IN!!!!!!!

Anywho, one thing I've noticed is that this radio station has a seemingly bottomless pit of wedge. Every other week they're giving away £10k every day and sometimes a whopper of £100k.

Where does this cash come from? Is there really enough cash in radio to maintain an entire staff, all the contracts and library and still dish out this amount of money?

Seems a bit odd to me, especially when the likes of Kiss are giving away £1k a month or so.

At first I thought it might be that they gain more listeners that way but then I realised how much it irks me when a rival TV provider is advertising over the platform, so it seems to be a moral decision not to advertise a radio station within other forms of media?
Either way that very much feels like a corporate advertising budget to me.

Adverts, plus it costs over a quid each time you enter one of their competitions via text, so they rake that in as well.

Adverts and the morons who call in for this competition and the poxy 'Whose on Heart' competition - I usually quite like the station, but I cannot stand their endless promotion of these things.

I think once cars are driverless, that a TV in a car wont just be something you buy aftermarket, unless its one of those strange 'child-friendly vehicles'.

So I wouldn't see much use in a radio after that :p.

I dunno man. My driverless car will still be on cut springs or phat bags with some MTX bass in the boot. Gotta represent y0.

From the "who's on heart" competition where people pay crazy amounts for a chance to win the competition that runs for 8 months a year.

Ah, so you are one of those, I don't like it so let's spoil everyone else's fun people

Hoping for something in a throwaway comment in the spam section of an internet forum is a well known method for making that thing happen. Therefore I can totally see why you would equate it to spoiling someone else's fun.

current comp is sponsored by easyjet so im sure good chunk of cost is covered by them rest will be crazy people ringing or texting premium lines 7 days to make 10K from phone calls + all ad rev im sure they are doing ok

In order to be in with a chance of winning the £10k or £100k, do you have to call a premium rate phone number or send a £1.50 text by any chance?
