Where do I stand - Only able to get 1Mb ADSL

Did F2S move you to fixed rate ADSL, because that's what you're on and if you're on an "up to 8Mbps" tier, you could at least get the increased upstream.

I think they may have. I'll see if I have the emails from around the time I enquired.

Have you tried plugging your router into the test point on your master phone socket?

Just to rule out internal wiring problems.

Yeah I've tried that mate. I get the same readings!

One thing I've not tried that I've read about is moving the routers power supply to another socket. Currently it about 12" away from the phone socket. Worth a try I guess.

I'm seriously thinking about moving over to Sky. It would save me £15 a month and I'm not really any worse off (in theory) I spoke to another neighbour yesterday who's with BT. He's able to get 200Kb/Sec download 'sometimes' which is the fastest on my street that I've heard off!

You think you got it bad, I used to get 5.5mb but since i moved house to a new area i can only get 512 which sucks. however, there is nothing you can do, complaining will get you knowhere, the ISP wont care, as long as you are getting a service and they are getting paid.

I'm on sky max broadband which costs me £10 per month for a 16meg line. Check signiture for speed test i have just done. I think i'm about 1.5 km from the exchange. I'm very happy with the service so far :) I get a constant 1.3 - 1.4meg a second when downloading from newsgroups.

I hope you can sort your line out.
