Hi all

little help needed..

I got offered a new job 2 weeks ago as a stock broker working for Capstones Stockbrokers. They guaranteed me £1000 commition pay per calendar month.

I had a choice to either be employed by the company or be self employed. As yet I haven’t made a decision.

I realised the job wasn’t for me and handed my notice in today and the director was very nice and thanked me for the help and time and verbally said I will get paid for the time I have been there.

NOW 2 hours later I received a phone call to say as I was self employed I have no legal rights to getting paid???

In a nut shell I have worked there for 2 weeks and not getting paid is there anything I can do as I do have a contract stating I will get paid at least £100 per month?

Cheers

Andy

Call ACAS. Number's in the phone book or on line. Tell them your problem and they should be able to sort you out over the phone.

Cheers for the advise

I have just phoned ACAS and they said I need to go down the line of employement tribunal..

Send the company a letter saying you intend to do this... they may settle with you so they don't have to go to court.
