Been ages since I bought printer paper. I remember paying about a fiver ream, now I can’t find a ream for under a tenner. Mostly around the £12-13 mark. When did paper get so expensive?

Any suggestions for good, reasonably cheap, online paper shops please?

I noticed this when I was looking for some a while back. I think we used to sell it 3 quid a pack; I ended up paying almost 10 from Sainsbury's. I guess folk print less so they've jacked the price up.

Paper on the Producer Price index has gone up by 65% in the last 18 months.

I work in corrugated and have had to get 6 hefty price rises from my customers since February 2021.

Used to get it from work til they changed to that recycled cream/brown coloured crap.

Now, whatever's cheapest in ASDA or Tesco.

Due to the war in Ukraine pulp price has increased significantly so suppliers have had to source from South America for example.

I order paper for our copiers at the school I work at and we usually pay £12.99 per box (5 reams) but this has increased to £18.99 per box so you can imagine when buying 15 boxes a week the cost increase.

One of my colleagues at work is in procurement and was commenting on the price of wholesale paper a few weeks back, the prices have been going up a lot since the start of 2021 but this year has seen huge price rises.

This is nonsense, or at best not true, take your pick. Paper costs have been inflating since at least 2004 and the events in Ukraine, while tragic, are not why your 'suppliers' are charging you more.

Let's face it, people blame the war in Ukraine for almost everything although I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Brexit yet.
