Where do you put sound proofing?

Hi,

I am having to add sound proofing to my drivers door due to it not having any at the moment. Now where abouts do you put it, I know you put a layer on the inside skin, but then do you put some on the outside skin directly behind the speaker?

Partly SQ, need to fit some anyways so I thought I would help out my SQ the most.

Sound proofing is a good way to slow a car down... If its any good its normally quite heavy. Do you really need it?

Glue it to the door skin to stop it drumming and any panel like the floorpan, roof, boot etc. This stops huge amounts of noise being transmitted through the panel itself.

What you using, some of that rubberised sheet like Dynamat?

Nah just used some bitumin high tach flashing. I can get it for £4.80 per metre you see.
