Still makes no sense, there must be a definition of razzed that I'm not aware of. Never mind.

Anyway I'd always keep PCs well off the floor if space allows. With many cases taking at least some of their air from underneath it makes sense.

On the floor.

Just removed my old 980 (to replace with a 1080 Ti) and it was clean as a whistle. Positive pressure ftw.

Mines in a bath full of water, nothing like extreme water cooling it.......wait.........thats right, theres nothing like it, damn :(

Seriously though, mines under my desk, sitting on a duckboard to keep it off the floor.

I always kept mine on the floor until last year when I had a leak in my water loop. I thought it best to be able to keep an eye on it in future so I bought a nice case with a window and now it sits on my desk next to me.

Under my desk -as I'm not a fan of light or noise (even though I build silent units and disable any fan lights other than the small activity lights).

Only danger in the position I put it in is that I'm constantly tinkering and leave the side panel off sometimes as a result. And in my quest for zero light emission it's hard to tell it's off, even in the dark. So my wife has come extremely close to kicking the internals out, while swiveling on the desk chair. Even when I've left a post-it-note on the chair saying - 'Caution Nerd At Work!''.

The next thing I would like to remove from my desk is the annoying ringing thing that lights up every 5 minutes... :/

On the floor next to my desk. I changed my psu fan to pull air out of my case to try lower the dust going in to it

Top of the desk. Thats because I have bass bin speaker sitting on the floor and it doesn't sound right sitting on the desk, not to mention having that booming in my right ear I can do without.

I got matching John Lewis office furniture as a wedding pressie, so sat against the sides of my corner desk are drawer cabinets at the same height. PC sits on the left one, windowed panel facing out, so the front panel looks to the right for all the FanCon/5.25"/USB facilities.

Floor. No room on my desk as I use three monitors. Surprisingly, no serious dust issues. Clean it once a year or so and, whilst not like a silicone fabrication plant, isn't too bad.

Could be my wife's love of vacuuming though :)

My tower is on the desk at the moment but will soon be built into the desk and have a glass window on top so I can still see it.
Are you buying a dedicated desk, pastymuncher, or are you getting/making it bespoke?

I've considered this as it seems the ideal - get to see your hobby staring at you in the face, easy access and the potential for very cool temps - but i haven't seen a desk large enough for my purposes so i'm thinking of looking into a bespoke setup. But suspect it will be hundreds...

^ Same as, and nice setup by the way. Most of us spend a lot of time and money on our PC's making them proform and look good, and then they get sent to that often dusty/dark place under the desk :( never to see the light of day again until the temps start going up. Ok some may not have the space on the desk or noise might be an issue. All I can say is come on and give your PC some love, and place the damn thing away from all that dust and lift it out of the darkness into the light and have some pride about what you have created. ;)

I am way too tight to buy one of these computer case/desk setups such as the Lian Li ones. I built my desk to fit down 2 walls of my computer room several years ago. My computer room is just a pair of built in cupboards that I knocked into one and is only 6x5 feet so perfect as a pc room. The main top of the desk is wider than the other and I am going to adapt the desk so that I can have the pc basically slung underneath. I will be making a bespoke two deck box to put it in which will be then fixed to the underside on the right hand side of the main desktop. I have a sheet of laminated glass already cut to the size I wanted which shall be a flush mount window so that I can see down onto the top deck which will contain the motherboard (horizontally mounted) gpu, ssd's etc. The psu and water pump(s) will be out of sight in the lower deck.
