Where does science & technology end and fantasy begin?

Some believe anything is possible when it comes to science & technology but lets be realistic here, when you're playing with a rule set like the universe there are some serious limits on whats possible, things like how advanced, small, fast or powerful something can get, what stuff do you consider incredibly unlikely or even impossible?

Im thinking shrinking an object or teleportation, perhaps there are alternatives like wormholes but thats theoretical, however shrinking an object has got to be impossible?

I believe that nothing is impossible, just highly unlikely.

If you have a rule set stuff can be impossible, the universe has many laws and fundamental limits given what we have to play with, so not only is much unlikely but some stuff must be impossible.

These rules though will be changed in the future due to better understanding. Even if we think that we know 100% of all their is to know about something i can guarentee we will learn something new about it in the future. So this is why i think anything is possible.

I shrank my jumper once...I thought it was highly unlikely but boy was i wrong.

Rules are self imposed by humanity. There are very few actual rules when it comes to the "universe".

We don't really know what is outside our universe... we don't even really know what the universe is like outside of our local group - already signs have been detected that some of what were considered constants/laws of physics are different in other areas of the universe compared to where we are.

I've always thought that so-called paranormal activity will be explained in future as science -and other things- advance.

I think some stuff could be so advanced it would be like magic, nanofabrication and super intelligent AI are a good bet but you can't make an atom smaller and its doubtful you can move it to another location like on star trek, though there may be other ways of doing things, wormholes for instance but some stuff i just can't see happening.

We can't rule out another "dimension" that can meddle with the quantum mechanics of our universe - we can't even tangibly define what energy actually is.

Cliché of an atom being 99.99999whatever% empty space. When science finds a way to manipulate the electrical charges between the space to shrink them (pull them together) maybe we could have copies of atomic structures at different smaller factors.

What's wrong with a transporter that copies whatever it is doing, then rebuilds it exactly to the most minute atomic quantum (whatever comes nextum) detail at its destination location? using the original as power or recycling it for something on the receiving end? Requires ludicrous unlimited power maybe?? Im sure they will have it one day.

i could make this BS up all day
