Where my HDD Go?

So my SATA hdd was working fine, restarted computer - notice its missing - check the BIOS, everything SATA related enabled. Check the connection - all ok tried the 3 other SATA slots, even a different power cable.. still doesnt detect it (in BIOS or windows)

Only thing i havent checked is the cable (not got a spare handy at 1am) - seems a bit dodgy if it is the cable though.

Could it be anything else?

Since you appear to have tried everything else it would seem that it can only be the drive or the cable. If you can try the drive and/or cable in a mates computer then that would mean you could hopefully eliminate the other option.

Well tried another cable in ever SATA slot, and no luck

HDD is fairly new and was working fine, second drive to go bang in about a month - not to mention other things failing - i think it may be the Mobo every since the powersurge i had everything has gone a bit wrong

Gonna get a conroe set up soon and see if the new Mobo handles the drives.

Lost so much Data
