Really been enjoying listening to electronic music lately and would love a bash at creating my own stuff for fun and see what I could come up with. No sure where to start though with what program to use and where to find samples?

Any help would be great thx

go in smiths and browse the stupidly expensive compter music magazines. computer music has a guide to making techno in it this month

A safe bet is to start with Ejay to get used the basic concept of sequencing, then move the fruity loops :)

At first you need to understand how electronic music is structured, so a simple step-sequencer is your best bet.

Like this man says. Start simple, master the basics and then progress at your own pace.

Yep, a lot of dancefloor type electronic music has a pretty simple structure so there's a pretty easy formula to stick to. Don't be afraid to bend the rules a little, otherwise it will sound pretty generic.

Also, I think there are even some free sequencers out there, Audiomulch springs to mind.

Post yer clips here, we may be able to offer feedback.
